| De tentoonstellingscatalogus voor SOUL, in het kader van Brugge Plus: Corpus 05. Het PMMK - Museum voor Moderne Kunst aan Zee organiseert in het kader van Brugge Plus het ambitieuze tentoonstellingsproject SOUL in het Grootseminarie te Brugge van 15 juli tot en met 15 september 2005. Met SOUL is het de bedoeling om het centrale thema van Brugge Plus, Corpus, op een onrechtstreekse maar pertinente manier te benaderen. De tweespalt tussen lichaam en ziel in een door het christendom bepaalde cultuur, heeft tot op vandaag een sterke invloed op de creatie en de perceptie van kunstwerken. De menselijke figuur speelt de hoofdrol in deze tentoonstelling, maar het lichaam zal vaak eerder impliciet aanwezig zijn. het is de bedoeling om na te gaan hoe actuele kunstenaars, gebruik makend van traditionele of nieuwe middelen, omgaan met begrippen zoals lichamelijkheid, zintuiglijkheid en vooral transcendentie. |
